Blizzard and Netflix are making a Diablo animated series

The BlizzCon 2026 opening ceremony did not only reveal Diablo V. In the same show, Blizzard announced that it is developing an animated Diablo series with Netflix. Its own recap of the ceremony puts it in one sentence: "Blizzard and Netflix are developing a new animated series set in the world of Diablo, bringing the franchise to a new screen."

This codex missed it at the time because it is not about the game. It belongs here anyway: it is the one other piece of Diablo that Blizzard has put on the calendar between now and spring 2029.

What has not been said

No animation studio, no showrunner, no cast, no episode count, no release date, and no story. Blizzard's recap does not connect the series to Diablo V - "set in the world of Diablo" is all it says. Anything more specific you read, including that it tells the story of Diablo's conquest of Sanctuary, is somebody's guess.

Until Blizzard or Netflix says more, this page has nothing to add.

How it is filed

Confirmed, because Blizzard published it. That covers the existence of the project and nothing else.
