When does Diablo V release?

Blizzard has named a window, not a date: spring 2029. No exact day has been announced, and no pre-orders or editions exist yet.

Which classes are confirmed?
Confirmed
Three: the Demon Hunter, the Monk and the new Plague Knight. Blizzard has said more will follow, and game director Joe Shely says the plan is more than any base Diablo game has had - but nobody has named a total.

No. The premise of Diablo V is that they already failed. Sanctuary has fallen, and Diablo rules from the throne of Westmarch.

Not permanent safe ones. Instead you travel with a growing caravan of survivors who act as merchants, companions, quest givers and narrative characters.

Yes. Blizzard has confirmed runes and runewords in the style of Diablo II, alongside the return of equipment sets and a grid inventory where item size matters again.

Will Diablo V have an endgame at launch?

That is the promise. Game director Joe Shely says the team is committed to a complete endgame at launch, and is deliberately moving some of the systems' complexity out of the campaign and into it. What the endgame actually consists of has not been described. More on what was said.

No. No test phases have been announced. Treat any sign-up page that claims otherwise as untrustworthy.
Does the world really change between visits?
Confirmed
Yes. Blizzard describes a procedurally altered world where terrain, points of interest, enemies, rewards and the degree of demonic corruption can differ when you return to an area.

Early, by Blizzard's own description - but past the drawing board. The game has had its own branch of the Diablo IV engine "for a while now", says senior producer Tiffany Watt, and on 14 October 2026 cinematics director Neil David Carter posted that the first cinematics shoot had taken place. One is in development. Blizzard announced at BlizzCon 2026 that it is making an animated series set in the world of Diablo with Netflix. It has not been connected to Diablo V, and no studio, release date or story has been named. More on what was said.
